The judge did not see a need to remove baby Emily on an emergency basis today. He has called for an ongoing investigation and another court date in September.
It didnt matter that we had several witnesses that cared for the baby for the last six months and knew of her delays, malnutrition, bruising, condition of the boarded up trailor where she is living, a mom who has untreated bipolar, a father who is on parol and has years of criminal history. The RN's testimony wasn't enough either...
We could not attest to any of the bruises, we did not see any of this happen. However those who have testified and it wasn't enough.
We hurt for the baby over her life and treatment.
However, God allowed it and we are at peace with His control.
We will now have to pray and ask God where to go from here.
I think Im most ill by our "Systems" and what is allowed of birth parents who have shown abuse and neglect.
We will remain in prayer for Emily's safety and we would appreciate if you would too.
