Happy 7th Birthday to HVN, anyone for tea?

She loves life and celebrations and hosting family and friends!
She wanted her cake to look like her "beloved" blanket (and it was perfect)!
We celebrated with a tea time with cousins!
Hard to believe she is getting so big, weighing 48.7 lbs and is 48' tall!
She's missing one tooth on the bottom and another is loose. She begins second grade in the fall and loves to read! She has a servants heart and loves through actions. And, obviously she loves being a girl and getting all dressed up!! Priceless, precious moments!

Never, would I have imagined that we would be so blessed!
 Watermelon, her favorite!
Each of my brother's also have girls!
On her birthday, we visited the National Harbor!
I'm thankful they are great friends!
Strawberry and Chocolate Chip Scones, another one of her favorites .

She truly loves "HER" day and her Birthday month!

Sitting up high on the National Harbor Ferris Wheel!
I love this child's heart, so tender and kind! Often thinking of ways to make others smile,  this year she made their thank you bags and purses!
He really is her Prince Charming, she looked forward to this time all week!
7!! Really 7?? Be still my heart!!
These silly girls, cousins, have so much fun together!

To My Knees....

What else is a Momma to do but pray over her children and declare God's blessing and His word over their lives. I pray for our girls to rise up and be unafraid to stand for the One True God, to defend His Word and love People! I pray they seek to honor the Lord in life and choose to marry Men who love Jesus and will build His Kingdom! I pray for their hearts and minds to be protected, I pray they are God fearing parents one day that stand for Truth and teach truth to my Grandchildren.
The Supreme Court's decision today to make same sex marriage legal in all 50 states does not mean we have to agree nor like it. However, we must love people where they are in order to bring them to Christ. Its not accepting, its being gracious enough to win the opportunity to share Christ with the lost.
Won't you pray with me for our girls.....????? Thank you!!!!

Be Still My Heart....

Look at the little faces here, my heart jumps when I see pictures of their precious beauty!
The question so of marriage, love, dating and the honeymoon are vast when we attend weddings at this age.
My man is setting the standard high by dating our girls each month and reminding them of how very special and loved they are. I pray they never settle for anything less than what we are teaching and showing them. God's love is the best, its pure and enough.
May they experience Jesus as enough for them, even after they marry!
Pray with us as God is forming their hearts, their spirits and their attitudes....Im thankful that they are grateful girls with thankful hearts!

Go West, School Play 2015

Not only was she well rehearsed but she loved the singing and dancing. She's grown so much out of her shyness, at times still selective of her friends or who she communicates with but the Lord is growing her IMMENSELY!
She researched the Pioneer Women in the midst of her play to learn her character. I love her teacher and all she encourages her students to accomplish.
Hope's favorite part was the songs and teaching them to her sister.
She had a great fan club of 25+ here tonight, that made her feel so special!!!
She loves deeply so she emotions deeply, time is important to her and many gave her her love language back tonight.
Thank you!

Thinking of You Today and Always

There isn't a Hallmark card that exemplifies my heart and the gratefulness that I offer up to the Lord on behalf of our Birth Mothers. Both selfless and special in their own way, two different stories, two different births yet two women who made INCREDIBLE sacrifices and adoption plans.
If you're reading, I'm thinking and praying for you today. Our girls are growing into tender, loving, smart, God fearing girls and Im truly THANKFUL.
H lost her first tooth last week, she's singing and dancing for her school play, she doing 2nd grade work and truly loves people and her family. E is high energy off the charts, she's a friend to all, kind and loves the outdoors IMMENSELY.
I'm thankful to celebrate today, Mother's Day! God used our Birth Mother's, their families and these sweet girls to make me a Mommy!
What a title with such VAST meaning.....thank you!

More of Easter Season

Happy Easter

In our home we call it Resurrection Sunday, the last 40 days we have been talking about what took Jesus to the cross, what He did on the cross and the empty tomb on Easter Sunday!
We are so thankful for the opportunity to invest, teach and love on our girls daily. Part of sharing our faith is closest to our hearts as we hope and pray one day they will make it their own.
Our family is staying busy with swim lessons, school, church activities and family time.
First grade and preschool will be complete before long, both have been growth periods for all of us. No one every warned me about all the activities that could go on, Im thankful we have committed to only two nights out a week and the rest get the ever famous NO!! We need quiet, down time, together time, focus time and the world wants our attention, time and money.
We aim to eat around our table together 4-5 nights a week and our girls look forward to it and Rick and I love that time. The book "Seeing is Believing" by the National Center for Biblical Parenting is a favorite and Rick uses it weekly. Our girls have really seen what scripture is saying through the experiments included in this book.
We pray our friends and family are well.
We continue to covet your prayers as we parent and do ministry full time, its no joke not for the faint of heart!
