The First Day of 1st Grade & The First Day of Pre-K

This long awaited and fun day, has come and gone! Our girls are such a blessing to others as they make them smile and feel loved!
They went to bed very excited, woke up to their favorite breakfast of eggs and bacon wraps and apples, H had a pretty dress picked put and wanted her Elsa braid, E wore the same dress H wore on her first day of Pre-K. You see below H leading her little sis into the preschool she attended. E was so excited to make friends, H quickly told her, "and if you see a quiet shy friend, like me, make sure you invite them to play and be their friend!" How precious is that?
H was not nervous this year as she returned to her school from last year, she was more excited to see her good friend Q!
I did tear a bit upon leaving E, realizing my baby is now in school and I am going to really miss her, like I do my big girl!
This first picture below is so true of them, they really love one another. No worries, they are normal sisters that will argue but always come back as friends!
At the end of the day...our routine that I love was back in motion consisting of family dinner around the table, reading, homework, studying AWANA books, play time and prayer!
I am incredibly grateful that both of our girls love school and learning!
Praying for a great school year, won't you pray with us?

SAVORING THE SUMMER MOMENTS

As mom to an almost 5 year old and a 6 year old I've learned to savor the moments. They fly, at times they drag on but all are precious! Feeding their minds and souls and realizing our time is limited as its shared with so much between school, church, friends, activities and life.
This summer has been fun, but our vacation is coming and I can't wait. We will be celebrating E's Adoption finalization where "Dreams Come True!" Beyond excited!
Look at these sweet pictures, H & H have grown together since they were babies! E came and fit right in and AJ is a sweet addition too!

Our Little Piece of HVN...is Turning 6!

Happy 6th Birthday HVN

This blue eyed sweet pea is a doll is so many ways. God has created her with a tender heart that loves deeply! We are blessed to call her our daughter and know the Lord is working in her heart at such a young age. She is asking many questions about the Lord and heaven and salvation, its as if we get to watch Him draw her to Himself. What a privilege!
HVN is tall for her age, about 44 lbs and SMART! She's non competitive but loves to play games and laugh. We love that she is a cuddle bug and Mommy's lap is her favorite place to rest! Her favorite food is pizza, fruit, salad and chocolate chip pancakes.
Her best friend is below and from a like minded family!
We love Q and HVN thinks she the bestest friend ever!

She's a deep thinker at 6 and articulates well.
Her teacher this past year gave her rave reviews on sharing and being a friend to many. She scored high on all of her reading, math and art work.
The note below was the first note she returned to me in her lunchbox. Each day H received a napkin note from me, often not wiping her face as she didn't want to mess up my note. How sweet is that?
So this note touched my heart and is in a safe place now:

HVN loves VBS! She loves the music part and all the hand motions and practicing over and over! Her least favorite part is being in front of everyone to sing but has overcome many fears and leads well in worship.

HVN's favorite bugs are butterflies and lady bugs, she enjoys catching them and saving them in her bug box.
HVN loves to do anything ask in the kitchen. She enjoys watching the Pioneer Woman with Mommy and loves to duplicate her work. Shes gotten so good at following directions and tasting the outcome of doing things right.

One of HVN's favorite people is this little girl below. They have their days as sisters but they truly love one another and have grown close as friends!

We are incredibly thankful to have HVN in our lives. Our families adore her, her friends enjoy her company and E thinks there is no other sister as special as HVN.
God is so good to have made us a family.
We are forever grateful that her birth mom chose life and considered her life while in the womb; taking so much heart and thought as to what would be best for this sweet little girl.
We love you "J" and celebrate our gift each day but especially on her Birthday!

Piano Recital 2014

Piano Recital 2014

Kindergarten School Play

We are extremely blessed to have H in school where she is, it's a very unique Academy. Her teacher is a licensed teacher, she taught in public school for 12 years where she also built curriculum. For the last 8 years she has taught kids in her home, where her basement is one big classroom! H gets piano lessons there so we don't have to go out another night and Mr. J is her science teacher. He's a retired Scientist at one of our local bases, he teaches the kids science and experiments every Thursday.
They've done a host of field trips, plays and H is reading in her second 1st grade book although she's finishing Kindergarten. She is also building sentences, writing and enjoying Math.
Miss D only takes 12 kids a year and some only come to school on certain days.
Rick's day off is Friday and our weekends in Ministry can be busy so we opted to only send H to school Monday-Thursday and it has worked wonderfully for our Family!
It promotes family time and that's why we picked this Academy!
H loves school, her friends, learning and especially her teachers!
This was one shy preschoolers last year. To see her get on stage this past weekend and sing and dance and do her piano recital in front of a crowd shows such growth!
God is sooo good to have placed her in the perfect school!
