Christmas Morning

On Christmas morning Daddy read us the Christmas story from Luke 2 before we opened presents. Then he took Hope to her stocking and found a stuffed "Love Bug" in there. Thats Daddy's nick name for Hope so it was a very fitting gift. Its so sweet to watch their relartionship, she is crazy about him just as he is her. It's precious!
1st Time Eating from a Spoon...Yum Yum
Hope was full of energy on Christmas day, almost like she knew it was Christmas. It was the perfect day to try her on spoon fed cereal. She did great and opened wide as the spoon was on its way to her mouth! She's doing well with Oatmeal and now sits in her high chair with us at the table each meal. We each grab a hand to thank God for His blessings, then she is ready for some grub. Yum YumThe Beauty of Adoption
The family picture below is of Rick's sister, Vivian, her husband Steve and their daughter Hannah. They are also adoptive parents. Rick and I were thrilled to have Hannah and Hope spending time together while at the beach. We look forward to Hope having a cousin she can look up to and share a special bond with in the years ahead.

Adoption Update
Dear Family & FriendsHappy New year to you and your families!
We arrived home last night from a family vacation to Myrtle Beach. The weather was beautiful and our time was very enjoyable. Hope was introduced to the swimming pool and loved it.
Early this morning the doorbell rang and we were presented with certified papers from a courier. The document refers to a January 9, 2009 Court hearing for the Paternity suit that’s been filed by the possible birthfather. We knew this was coming however it still strikes us and its hard not to remain breathless as we consider all that is before us.
The documents refer to details that the possible birth father wants to accomplish ie., custody, parental responsibilities, etc.
The hearing will be presented before Mag. Snyder. Please pray for him/her and that he/she would be imparted with wisdom. Ultimately we want God’s will to be accomplished and pray for favor among the courts.
We spoke with our attorney and he will file a motion to dismiss this since we have a pending adoption. He says we do not need to be present at this time. He also said things will move a bit faster now and many things will transpire in January.
We wish it was more clear for us as well, but its not. We don't know what to expect. Therefore,
we continue to covet your prayers!
